He was declared man of the match for his brilliant knock. In response West Indies got all out for 210 runs in 42 overs.
Gayle could manage to score only 11 runs off 24 deliveries before getting trapped LBW to Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
He however broke the record of Brian Lara after scoring 9 runs and became the highest run scorer for West Indies in ODI cricket. Only Gayle and Lara have scored 10,000 plus runs for West Indies in ODI's.
